Welcome to the Gunnamatta Surf Lifesaving Nippers Education Program. We look forward to seeing you and your nipper(s) at Gunnamatta Back Beach and the many Gunnamatta SLSC social events throughout the season.

Please take the time to review our nippers calendar outlining our program dates. Follow our Instagram account and website to stay up to date with news and events. From time to time, due to weather and conditions the scheduled program may incur changes which you will be notified of via email &/or text if last minute.
2025 / 2026 Nipper Season Dates
This seasons session dates start on Saturday 27th December 2025 and finishes Saturday 11th January 2026. Times are scheduled to safe beach conditions, eg. low tide at Gunnamatta Beach.

Nippers Renewals and Wait List
To renew your Childs participation in our program, please re-register by 29th August 2025.
For all returning families only, to renew your child(s) spot within
Gunnamatta’s Nipper program for the 2026 Season, please register*
details by 29th August 2025.
*For any sibling(s) who will be 7yo by the 30th September and wanting to join the program,
please complete the following steps:
1. Add child to your family LSV membership (see details below on how to register with Life
Saving Victoria)
2. Register all existing Nippers via the below link
3. Repeat above step for all ‘new’ siblings (7yrs +) wishing to join the program via the below link

Families wishing to join our Nipper program for the first time, please complete the form link to register on our waitlist by clicking the following link:
Please note, we have a high retention rate for our Nippers program so spots are limited.
All participants that wish to be part of the Nippers Education Program must:

Be a financial club member for the current season

Be 7 – 13 years of age by midnight on September 30th

Stay in designated age group, even if (their) birthday occurs during the season

Complete Swimming assessment and send to the club before 30th November prior to commencing Nipper activities in the water.

All wait list families will be advised no later than 16th November on place outcomes.
Please note, if withdrawing from the program, ensure to email nippers@gunnamattaslsc.com.au with child(ren's) name and date of birth.

Swimming Skill Assessments
Gunnamatta SLSC does not offer Swimming Skill Assessments as part of our Nipper program. Please print off the appropriate age group Swimming assessment form (refer link) and have your child's swimming teacher sign off your child's competencies.
If your child does not participate in swimming lessons, LSV will conduct swimming assessments with dates to be announced soon. Please refer to the LSV website for more details or click on this link to register your attendance: https://lifesavingvictoria.wufoo.com/forms/medpc450e0np9r/
All completed Swimming Assessments need to be returned by the 31st October 2024 and uploaded here:
Important information - Working with Children Check (WWCC)
All parent/guardians involved in Nippers must have a Working With Children Card (WWCC) to support the Nippers program. Please ensure you have a working with children card that is valid. If you have not yet completed your WWCC, please follow the instructions here: https://service.vic.gov.au/services/working-with-children
When you have received your check and card, please complete and submit it to the club using this link: WWWC Google form:

• Volunteer for parent roles – we ask for your support with at least one volunteer shift per Nipper during the season
• If your uniform is yet to arrive or you forgot to order your rashies, spare gear can be purchased via the club house
• Caps will be provided on the first day of Nippers
